Volkswagen Vento facelift Diesel automatic DSG First Review, Images

  01 September,2014

These are the images of the Volkswagen Vento facelift diesel which has been launched. The Vento facelift will get the 1.5 TDI engine along with some minor design changes which we will talk about below.

Exterior changes

Unlike the Polo facelift design changes to the front are limited to only new headlights, new alloys as the front bumper and grille continue with the old design which we think has been done to give the Vento a slight difference in terms of design.

The other change is the new colours which is called as toffee brown and night blue. The toffee brown is taken from the Jetta and in this colour we think now the Vento looks even more similar to its bigger brother!

Interior changes

Inside lies the biggest difference as the cabin now gets the same updates as the new Polo. It certainly looks fresher and that dash of silver to the centre-console livens up the sombre cabin. The other changes like the Polo include the lovely 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and new look instruments. Of course another change is the automatic gearbox as shown here. Other changes on the new Vento include dual front airbags on all variants.

Diesel plus automatic

The Vento diesel facelift will get the downsized 1.5 diesel engine developing 104 bhp and 250Nm of torque. The big talking point here is the inclusion of the 7-speed DSG autobox along with the 5-speed manual which means other than the new Rapid, Verna the Vento DSG will be only the third one in its class to have a diesel automatic combo.

The Vento DSG is offered in Comfortline and Highline trim levels. The Vento is available at Rs 10.49 lakh for the Comfortline and Rs 10.94 lakh for the Highline version. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.

The new Vento———s 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI turbo-diesel engine produces 103 horsepower and 250Nm of torque, which provides impressive performance on the road, while its fuel economy figure of 21.21kpl provides uncompromised efficiency. The 1.2 TSI engine produces 103 horsepower and 175Nm of torque, and delivers 16.93kpl in terms of fuel economy. The 1.6 MPI engine produces 103 horsepower and 153Nm of torque, and returns 15.04kpl.
