German vehicle manufacturer BMW will be launching the M3 and M4 sportscars in India on the 26th of November this year. We have known for a while that this will happen sometime during the end of 2014 but now, we have an exact date.
The M3 is widely regarded as a car that———s brilliant to drive and one of the very best in its segment. The BMW M4 is an all new vehicle that is, in essence, a coupe version of the M3 sedan. Once these cars arrive on Indian shores, they will have to take on vehicles that are capable of formidable performance themselves like the Audi RS5, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Jaguar XF-R and so on.
Both the M3 and the M4 are powered by the same engine - a 3.0 litre, 6 cylinder, twin turbocharged petrol engine that delivers a peak power output of 431 bhp that———s good enough to propel these cars all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph. Buyers can specify their cars with either a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 7 speed, double clutch automatic transmission. Prices will be, as expected, on the higher side since both these M vehicles will be brought to India as CBUs. But if you———re a true driving enthusiast and don———t have a problem in coughing up the asking price, the BMW M3 and M4 are a couple of tremendous driving machines.
