American automobile maker Ford has released the first teaser image of their upcoming SUV, the Endeavour. From the image, one can only see the headlamp and a part of the front grille but, it does look identical to the concept version of the car showcased earlier. This new vehicle will be unveiled on the 14th of November in China.
In India, Ford could carry on using the 2.5 litre and 3.0 litre diesel engines that power the current Endeavour. However, while the current model uses 5 speed automatic and manual transmissions, the new one will most likely be equipped with 6 speed manual and automatic gearboxes. In international car markets though, the new Endeavour gets either a 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder diesel motor or a much more powerful 3.2 litre, 5 cylinder diesel engine under the bonnet.
A couple of other changes that Ford has announced for this new SUV are a passenger cabin that takes design cues from the F150 pickup truck and a new coil spring suspension unit that replace the now outdated leaf springs. The concept vehicle was first displayed in Sydney, Australia and then again at the Bangkok Auto Show in Thailand. This new Ford Endeavour will make its appearance on Indian roads sometime in 2015.
