Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Automatic - What to Expect

By   |   07 November,2014

As we announced back in August, Japanese vehicle manufacturer Mitsubishi is gearing up to launch their Pajero Sport Automatic in India on the 15th of November. This vehicle will come to India in its 4x2 avatar only.

At the moment, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is available in India only as a manual and with this new variant, the company can get some much needed expansion in its Indian line-up of cars. Under the bonnet, we do not expect any alterations and the automatic version will most likely continue with the 2.5 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine that puts out a robust 176 bhp that currently powers its manual version.

The transmission itself will be a 5 speed automatic gearbox that channels power to only two wheels rather than all four. The reason for this is so that Mitsubishi can keep the cost of the vehicle from spiralling upwards. The manual version of this SUV that is on sale right now can be purchased with all wheel drive as well. A few other subtle styling changes are on the cards for this new variant as well; and the interior will get some more kit to give it a more premium feel.

Mitusbishi is trying hard to sell this extremely capable SUV as proved by the fact that a couple of months ago, the company launched a limited edition version of the Pajero Sport with a dual tone exterior paint job for INR 24 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
