We said it when we had tested it and now it is happening as the Zest is putting a good show beating the Honda Amaze in the October 2014 sales. We have been impressed by the Zest and said it will bring in the sales that Tata Motors hopes for. That is starting to show now with the Tata Zest sales being 3524 units in October when compared to 3482 units for the Honda Amaze.
While the compact sedan king continues to be the Maruti Dzire selling close to 18 thousand units the Zest will no doubt increase its footprint in the compact sedan segment. The Tata Zest is now third behind the Hyundai Xcent which did 4629 units. This comes as good news when Tata Motors would be launch their next product in form of the Tata Bolt hatchback.
While the competitive pricing surely has played a big part in the Zest doing good number it is also the new styling, features and of course the diesel/amt combo which makes it the cheapest automatic diesel that you can buy. Tata Zest has a 1.2 Turbocharged Revotron petrol engine and a 1.3 diesel.
