BMW has launched its facelifted M5 sports sedan with a price-tag of Rs 1.35 crore. The M5 is regarded as one of the most iconic cars and concept of making a luxury saloon giving supercars nightmares has always been appreciated by enthusiasts and buyers. The new car has been improved to be even better in terms of looks, performance and features. Here, in this article we take you through the changes in detail.
The new M5 has always been an attention grabber and now with sparkling square shaped LED rings in its headlights, it looks even more appealing with its new kidney grille. BMW has shaped the twin spoke kidney grille to add the futuristic M-designing language to this car along with a M5 logo on it. The large air-intakes in its front bumper feeding the ten radiators at front further adds to the presence of M5.
The sports sedan gets new twin spoke design for its 19-inch alloy wheels along with eye-catching yellow painted brake calipers doing duty for the carbon ceramic disc brakes.
But an M5 is nothing without the engine and here the twin turbo, 4.4L, V8 petrol engine is coupled with a 7-speed M-dual clutch transmission and also available with paddle shifters for more precise usage.
The power output of 560bhp gets transferred to the rear wheels which helps M5 to sprint beyond the speed of 240km/hr while the massive torque output of upto 680Nm confirms you a timing of 4.3 seconds to reach the speed of 100km/hr from standstill. Proper supercar performance this.
Taking styling cues from the sporty wheels outside, you will notice the new M- leather steering wheel of M5 as soon as you step in. Other fine chrome treatments and additional storage space at front are some of the new additions in this car.
Furthermore, to add up to your luxurious lifestyle, new M5 comes standard with features such as BMW iDrive with touch controller, BMW Navigation Professional, Head up display and Harmon Kardon Surround sound system and Park Distance Control for front and rear along with rear view camera. Safety features include Active M Differential, Dynamic Stability Control, airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist.
The new M5 surely looks more dynamic than before and with addition of premium features, it has just earned brownie points for itself. It is expensive but then all good things in life are...
