The M division at BMW has always been known for churning out tuned versions of regular BMWs with far more aggressive looks, louder soundtracks and lunatic performance levels. In addition to the BMW M5 and the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, India has just welcomed two more M cars to its roads.
Enter the BMW M3 and the BMW M4. Based on the BMW 3 Series, the M3 comes equipped with a 3.0 litre, 6 cylinder engine under its bonnet that is capable of belting out 425 bhp. The BMW 4 Series is a fairly recent addition to the fleet of this German car maker and it is essentially just a 2 door coupe version of the 3 Series sedan. The M4 is powered by the very same engine found in the M3. Both these cars can accelerate to 100 kph from a standstill in 4.1 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.
Buyers of these cars can get either the 6 speed manual gearbox or spec it with the 7 speed, double clutch automatic transmission. These cars also feature kit like Launch control, Dynamic Stability Control, 3 driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+), Stability Clutch Control and more.
With their additional styling elements like the 18 inch alloys, restyled bumpers, 4 exhaust pipes, M badging all around and so on, the BMW M4 and M3 will be instantly recognised on the roads for what they are. The M3 is priced at INR 1.19 crores and the M4 price is pegged at INR 1.21 crores (both are ex-showroom, India).
