You saw it first at the Auto Expo months back and now Audi is bringing the A3 cabriolet on 11th December. While the Audi A3 sedan has been a big hit in India the A3 cabriolet will be a niche model but nevertheless we think the A3 cabriolet can have many buyers due to the fact that it will relatively cheaper than many other cabriolets.
The A3 Cabriolet is a soft top and the top opens or closes in 18 seconds even while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h plus when top down the boot is 275 litres (from 320 litres). The A3 Cabrio is bigger when compared to the previous model yet is lighter. Unlike the A3 sedan the cabriolet will be petrol only but again we are not complaining as that punchy 1.8 TFSI is a drivers delight. Equipment levels will be generous just like in the top-spec A3 sedan. When it comes to price we expect it to be more expensive than the sedan.
The A3 Cabriolet will appeal to car buyers who are looking for a fun weekend car but that is not overly sporty plus being lot more affordable than some of the other options available in our markets at the moment.
