By   |   27 November,2014

German automobile maker Mercedes-Benz has announced its new line-up of high performance vehicles produced by its in-house tuning division, AMG. They will be called AMG Sport and these vehicles will be competing against vehicles from the RS cars of Audi and the M line of cars from BMW.

These new cars from AMG Sport will come equipped with engines tuned for a higher power output, upgraded braking systems, standard 4 wheel drive, AMG badging, design modifications to stand out from the regular crowd, sports seats, reinforced chassis components to handle the additional stresses and so on. The AMG Sport models will fill the gap between the AMG Sports package for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the classic AMG models.

The first two AMG Sport models are set to be unveiled at the International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2015. It is planned to add further models to this new product line in due course. The AMG fleet consumption has been reduced by 35% by means of a range of technical measures carried out in the past 5 years as part of the AMG Green Performance Strategy. The AMG models are already among the most fuel efficient and low emission vehicles in their segments.
