Honda India Marks 163% Growth in December 2014

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has clocked 14,428 units of domestic sales in the month of December 2014 as against 5,493 units sold during December 2013, registering a staggering sales growth of 163%.

The company also registered its highest ever domestic sales in a calendar year with 1,79,816 units in January-December 2014 with an overall growth of 67% as against 1,07,661 units during the period Jan-Dec 2013. During the month of December 2014, the highest selling model for the company was the Honda City with 6,012 units, followed by the Honda Amaze with 5,176 units, the Honda Mobilio with 2,098 units, the Honda Brio with 1,120 units and lastly by the Honda CR-V with 22 units.

Commenting on the sales performance, Jnaneswar Sen, the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd. said: Year 2014 has been a very successful year for HCIL business with record sales of crossing 1.79 lakh units in the domestic market in a calendar year. Two successful launches of Honda City and Honda Mobilio coupled with strong demand for all models throughout the year have contributed to 67% growth in HCIL sales in 2014. Honda———s fast expanding dealer network in Tier III markets has further contributed to this sales growth.
