2015 is here and three manufacturers are poised to kickoff the new year by launching new cars. The companies getting ready to release their new vehicles are Datsun, Mercedes-Benz and Tata Motors with the Go+ MPV, CLA sedan and Bolt hatchback respectively.
The second vehicle from Japanese vehicle maker Datsun will be an MPV called the Go+ and it will launch on January 15th. This car is basically a stretched version of the Go hatchback containing 2 more seats. Powered by the same 1.2 litre, 67 bhp, 3 cylinder petrol engine that does work in the Go hatchback, the Go+ has modified suspension to cope with the extra weight of the car that results in a surprisingly nice ride. Also, the sub 4 metre Go+ has a few nifty features which help it to keep costs to a minimum while not asking for too many compromises. Read our test drive report below.
This is a very important launch for Mercedes-Benz as the CLA sedan will be the least expensive sedan in the fleet of this German automobile manufacturer. The company launched its high performance version, the CLA45 AMG, last year and on the 22nd of January 2015, interested customers will be able to buy the standard version of the car as well. Mercedes-Benz is really banking on this car to perform well in the Indian car market, since it will be their biggest chance to swipe some market share away from the formidable Audi A3.
This new hatchback from Tata Motors will also have its launch on the 22nd of January this year and it already kicked up quite a bit of buzz. Under the bonnet of the Bolt will be either a 1.3 litre, 74 bhp diesel motor or the new 1.2 litre, 89 bhp, turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. The driver can toggle between the 3 driving modes of Eco, City and Sport depending on the driving conditions. These modes change the way the engine responds and delivers power. Tata has pulled out all the stops to ensure its success by giving it a good list of features, an engine which is frugal and significantly improved build quality.
