Audi closed the year on a record high by racking up a sales figure of 10,851 units in 2014. This marks the seventh consecutive year of growth for this luxury vehicle manufacturer from Ingolstadt, Germany.
Incidentally, last year, Audi also became the first luxury car maker to sell 10,000 units in a calendar year as well as financial year in India. Heavy demand, which far outstripped supply, enabled Audi India to pull off a stratospheric sales performance in the last quarter of 2014 with sales of 3,044 units, a growth of 17% compared to the same time period of 2013.
Audi was the first manufacturer in its price bracket to launch a product in 2014, with the release of the most powerful model from its product range, the Audi RS7, in January 2014. The company then went on to launch the new Audi A8L in May with the futuristic matrix LED headlamps, the Audi A3 sedan in August, the Audi Q3 Dynamic in September, a refreshed portfolio with the launch of the Audi Autumn Collection 2015 also in September and capped the year with the launch of the segment first convertible, the A3 Cabriolet, in December.
Also during last year, the company opened new showrooms in Udaipur, Visakhapatnam, Nashik and Calicut and also inaugurated the largest pre-owned luxury car showroom, Audi Approved: Plus at Gurgaon in April.
