The S60 sedan from Swedish car manufacturer Volvo was always seen as a good looking, modern vehicle. As with all Volvos, the S60 was practically bursting at the seams with safety features! Now, the company is set to unveil a high riding version of the car and it is called the Volvo S60 Cross Country.
This vehicle will debut at the soon to be held 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, USA. This is one of the first sedans that has been given a higher ground clearance. The S60 Cross Country rides 65mm (2.5 inches) higher than its standard version, to help it tackle rough terrain more easily. This car will also get 18 or 19 inch alloys and four wheel drive although, in European and other select car markets, customers can opt for a front wheel drive version as well.
Power for the car in European markets will be provided by 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre diesel engines in addition to a 250 bhp engine that will be available in the US. Due to the bigger and higher profile tyres, Volvo claims that the S60 Cross Country is not only more comfortable to drive in but also quieter in terms of road noise.
