Japanese car maker Datsun has launched the Go+, an MPV and the second vehicle of the company in India. The biggest attraction will be without a doubt its price, which starts from INR 3.79 lakhs.
The Go+ MPV measures just under 4 metres in length, which enables it to avoid certain taxes and allows the manufacturer to keep the price within reach of many a potential customer. The Datsun Go+ will be available with a 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder petrol engine that generates a power output of 67 bhp. There will be no diesel engine option on this car. Shifting is done courtesy a 5 speed manual gearbox only.
Datsun has gone to lengths to keep the costs of this car as low as possible but they have incorporated some clever touches as well. Instead of a conventional sound system, the Go+ has a player that lets you play the tracks in the playlist of your phone by hooking it up with an aux cable. Concerned about safety ratings, Datsun will offer a driver airbag as an option on the top end T variant.
It also has power windows for the front, speed sensitive electronic power steering and follow me home headlamps that keep your path illuminated for a few seconds at night after the car has been switched off. While the last row of seats can only be used by children, it makes more sense to fold them flat and increase the luggage capacity to 347 litres.
Datsun GO+ will be offered in four variants ——— D, D1, A & T and five colour options and it will come with a two year / unlimited kilometers warranty. Another segment first is an optional extended warranty for additional two years that covers unlimited kilometers. The GO+ also has fuel economy of 20.6km/l and the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) amongst its competitors.
