Customers in the UK are, for the first time ever, able to specify and order the new Ford Mustang; more than 50 years after the iconic car first went into production. This muscle car has been converted to right hand drive for the UK market and because of this, it could be brought to India in the near future as well.
Priced from GBP 28,995, the new Ford Mustang is available equipped with a 2.3 litre EcoBoost that produces 310 bhp or a 5.0 litre V8 engine that puts out 412 bhp. Available with 6 speed manual or automatic transmission, the new Ford Mustang features 19 inch alloys, a performance brake package, automatic HID xenon headlamps, LED tail lamps, a rear diffuser, dual zone climate control, a 9 speaker sound system, and Sync 2 voice control with an 8 inch colour touchscreen.
The car can be ordered with one of 10 paint colour options. Paid optional extras include climate controlled seats and a set of premium 19 inch alloys with lustre nickel finish. An online configurator will enable customers to specify their Mustang and review pricing. In addition, smartphone and tablet users can see and share exactly how their chosen Mustang could look, using a new augmented reality app that places the car in the setting of their choice.
The new Mustang will be available to customers in more than 100 markets and the first shipments are headed for Asia. Ford made the first 500 Ford Mustangs for Europe available to reserve during the 2014 UEFA Champions League Final. More than 9,300 people registered online for a chance to reserve one of the models during the match, the first 500 registrations were placed in just 30 seconds.
