Jaguar announced that their first ever SUV, the F-Pace, will be launched in India on the 20th of October this year. The vehicle will be sold in 4 trim levels that range in price from INR 68.40 lakhs to INR 1.13 crores (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It will be stocked to the hilt with all sorts of gadgetry and will be powered by either a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder, 177 bhp diesel engine or a 3.0 litre, turbocharged, 296 bhp diesel V6.
The successor of the old Tata Aria, the upcoming Hexa, has been shown to us several times now right from the Indian Auto Expo held in 2014. The company is now ready with the final production version of the MPV and it will be launched around January 2017. Under its bonnet will be a 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine that makes 156 bhp and a maximum torque output of 400Nm. it also has multiple driving modes that Tata calls Superdrive. As the name suggests, the SQ7 is the Tabasco sauce version of the regular Audi Q7. It is driven by a 4.0 litre, turbocharged V8 diesel engine that belts out 432 bhp and a staggering 900Nm of torque. This engine can propel this 2.3 ton SUV from 0-100 kph in 4.9 seconds and hit 250 kph. In addition to the standard 12V battery, the SQ7 has a 48V battery to power the adaptive systems and the roll stabilisers.
New Hyundai Tucson
The latest crossover from South Korean car maker Hyundai for India will be the Tucson, making its re-entry into the Indian market after quite a sizeable absence. We are not entirely sure what engines Hyundai will equip the new Tucson with but, we can guarantee that it will be crammed full of features, as all modern Hyundai vehicles have been. The vehicle will be positioned in terms of price between the Creta and the Santa Fe.
New Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner was a massive hit in India right from the day it launched a few years ago thanks to its imposing presence on the road and its driving prowess off the road. The company has now made the Fortuner a much more modern vehicle and upgraded its interiors so that it looks more premium as well. The vehicle will be driven by diesel power only but, it will have both manual and automatic options. We have been told that the new Fortuner will be launched in India on the 7th of November.
Nissan Terrano AMT
Now that sister company Renault has launched an AMT version of their hugely popular Duster SUV, Nissan is putting on sale an AMT model of the Terrano. Powered by a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel motor that makes 108 bhp, this model has a 6 speed AMT automatic that returns a fuel economy figure of 19.61 kpl (ARAI-certified). Prices for the Terrano AMT range from INR 13.75-13.85 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and prospective buyers can book it for a sum of INR 25,000.
