Nissan has recently opened bookings for the AMT version of their Terrano. This has come after sister company Renault launched the Duster AMT earlier this year. Prices for the Terrano AMT will range between INR 13.75 lakhs and INR 13.85 lakhs (ex-showroom) and those who want to buy one can walk into any Nissan dealership in the country and book one for a sum of INR 25,000.
The new Nissan Terrano has a 6 speed automated manual transmission (AMT) that is coupled to the 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine in its 110 bhp guise. Thanks to it being a diesel-powered motor, it returns a fuel efficiency figure of 19.61 kpl (ARAI certified). Renault also had taken the same route with their Duster AMT, providing the 6 speed, Easy-R AMT unit only on its top end version powered by the 1.5 litre, 110 bhp K9K diesel engine. Even the fuel economy is identical (basically because the engines are exactly the same as well) at 19.6 kpl. One major difference between these two SUVs is the fact that while Renault has provided the option of 4WD on the Duster AMT, the Terrano AMT remains front wheel drive only.
The Nissan Terrano AMT gets bluetooth smartphone pairing, a multifunction display (MID), an audio system that supports aux-in and USB inputs, a 12 volt power socket at the rear, plenty of storage spaces, rear centre armrest with cupholders, rear AC vents, 8-way adjustable driver seat, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, dual front airbags and more. The vehicle also gets a new exterior paint colour called Sandstone Brown.
In addition to all these features, the Duster AMT is also equipped with a MediaNav touchscreen infotainment system that has a built-in navigation module as well and an Eco driving mode. The price bracket for the Renault Duster AMT, since it has always been positioned a notch below the Terrano, starts from INR 11.76 lakhs and extends up to INR 12.97 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
