Honda will launch its Accord Hybrid luxury sedan on the 25th of this month and its packed with a lot of tech. The talking point is of course the hybrid powertrain which has a 2.0 litre four-cylinder i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle petrol along with two electric motors. Powering the electric motors would be a lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output is an impressive 212 bhp, however the figure that will grab more eyeballs would be the mileage of 23.1 kmpl- more than its direct rival.
Being a full import, the Accord Hybrid will not get any FAME scheme benefits and that means expect it to be priced at Rs 40 lakh but Honda is making sure that the Accord is fully loaded with all the necessary bells and whistles (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rain sensing wipers, Honda Lane Watch etc) that you expect from a car at the price. With this car, Honda is betting big on its power, efficiency and features. This is not the first hybrid offering as the car-maker had the Civic Hybrid in its range.
