Maruti is all set to launch their new Ignis next year in our market which will be placed below Baleno in their premium Nexa dealership chain. The Ignis is likely to share its engine line-up and features with the Baleno and is expected to be available in four variants with similar nomenclature same as Baleno. So, the said variants will be Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. What all features in which variant will be available with what choice of engine is what this article is all about. We detail you all possible features to be available in Ignis variant wise along with the pricing gap it may have with the Baleno which though shares a different segment but will have similar engines and features.
All variants of Ignis will be available with choice of one engine each of petrol and diesel. This includes a 1.2L, K-series petrol engine with a power and torque output of 83bhp@6000rpm and 115Nm@4000rpm respectively. The second unit will be the 1.3L Fiat sourced Multijet engine diesel engine which churns out a peak power of 74bhp@4000rpm with an utmost torque output of 190Nm@2000rpm. The Ignis will also come standard with 5-speed manual gearbox but it will also have a choice of AMT gearboxes with both engines which will be available in top end, Zeta and Alpha variants respectively.
This will be the base variant of Ignis which will come standard with all around black cladding, body colored bumpers, ORVMs and door handles, power steering, A.C, internally adjustable ORVMs, central locking, front adjustable headrests and accessory socket. The Ignis will come standard with antitheft system, ABS with EBD, Dual front airbags, seat belt pretensioner.
Second is the Delta variant which will additionally get rear power windows, electrically adjustable and foldable side indicators with ORVMs, remote locking, wheel covers, 2-Din audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls, reverse parking sensors, de-fogger and metal finished inside door handles.
This will be a very decently equipped variant which will get auto climate control, telescopic adjustable steering wheel, follow me home headlamps, push button start/stop, height adjustable driver seat, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, Auto dimming IRVM, rear wiper-washer, MID and leather wrapped steering wheel in addition to the features available in Delta variant.
This is top off the line variant which along with all the features of Zeta variant gets auto projector headlamps with day time running LED lamps, apple car play with navigation system and rear parking camera.
Expect the price gap between Ignis and Baleno to range somewhere between INR 45K-50K depending upon the variants. The Ignis should be priced around INR 4.80 lakhs for the base variant which will make it sit right in between the Swift and Baleno.
