Everybody knows that the Skoda Octavia is a masterpiece in its segment. It is incredibly fun to drive thanks to its brilliant engines and the DSG gearbox just adds to the fun. However, if you wanted even more from the Octavia, Skoda has got just the thing for you. Next month, they will launch the RS version of the car in India.
The Skoda Octavia RS will be put on sale in India in both petrol and diesel guises. Both engine options are turbocharged and have a displacement of 2,000cc. While the diesel motor puts out 184 bhp and enables the car to hit a top speed of 232 kph, the petrol version produces 230 bhp and can sprint from rest to 100 kph in an astounding 6.7 seconds. Top speed of the petrol Octavia vRS is right up there with several sportscars at 250 kph. The car is available with both manual/DSG automatic and front wheel drive/all wheel drive options.
The Octavia RS also comes with the controversial new split headlamps, a more aggressive front with a blacked out grille, a rear spoiler and diffuser, a full width rear reflector panel, large 17 or 18 inch alloy rims, vRS badges, a 9.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system, sports seats with perforated upholstery, aluminium pedals, and so on. Overall it brings performance motoring closer within reach of Indian driving enthusiasts.
