The only two vehicles in the Maruti Suzuki fleet that are sold through its Nexa premium dealership chain, the Baleno hatchback and the S-Cross crossover, have been given certain upgrades to keep their appeal high in the face of stiffening rivalry from competing manufacturers.
The powertrain options of both cars remain untouched. While the Baleno can be bought with either a 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine or a 1.3 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine; the S-Cross is available with diesel power only, a 1.3 litre version and a 1.6 litre version. The Baleno now gets airbags for both front occupants and ABS with EBD as standard equipment; and Isofix child seat anchoring and reverse parking sensors. With these safety features being included, the car now complies with the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Programme (BNVSAP) norms.
The Baleno features list now also includes LED daytime running lights. The revised Maruti S-Cross now gets 16 inch alloy wheels finished in a gunmetal grey colour. All these changes have been made without altering the prices of these cars, providing an added incentive to prospective customers.
