Hyundai Motor India announced that it has first time achieved sales milestone of 5,00,537 units in CY 2016, an increase from the 4,76,001 units sold in CY 2015. This represented a growth of 5.2% for the South Korean car maker.
However, during the same period, exports of the company declined by 3.4% from 1.67 lakh units in CY 2015 to 1.61 lakh units in CY 2016. Commenting on the performance in Calendar Year 2016, Y.K. Koo, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India said: 2016 has been a Year of Excellence for Hyundai in India achieving various milestones; Celebrating 20 years in India, the roll out of the 7 millionth car in November, crossing 5 lakh domestic sales in CY2016 and the fastest 50,000 unit sales in the month of October.
He added: Hyundai brands have also scored top rankings in both quality and design parameters in IQS and APEAL studies.
