Japanese automobile maker Honda has launched their latest product, the WR-V, in India with prices starting from INR 7.75 lakhs (ex-showroom) onwards. This crossover, based on the same platform as the Jazz, is an entirely new product built from the ground up.
Buyers can choose to have the WR-V in a petrol or diesel guise. While the diesel version is powered by a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged motor that produces 99 bhp; the petrol model has a smaller 1.2 litre engine that delivers 89 bhp. A 5 speed manual gearbox is provided for the petrol version while the diesel model gets a 6 speed manual transmission. Honda will put this car on sale in 6 different paint colour options: Carnelian Red, Golden Brown, Alabaster Silver, Modern Steel, White Orchid and a new colour called Premium Amber.
The inside of the car is spacious and comes with a good bunch of features that include a sunroof, a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with inbuilt 1.5GB storage, touch-controlled automatic AC, MirrorLink, voice commands, optional WiFi support, bluetooth connectivity, inputs for HDMI, USB and microSD cards, a cooled cup holder, push button engine ignition, cruise control, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and much more. The car costs INR 7.75 lakhs for the petrol S variant, INR 8.99 lakhs for the petrol VX variant, INR 8.79 lakhs for the diesel S variant and INR 9.99 lakhs for the range-topping diesel VX variant.
