BMW will launch its eagerly awaited new generation 5-Series by next month end. The 5-Series is an important car and with BMW on the back of a successful year which saw its sales grow by 14 percent, the new 5 will only strengthen its performance this year. In terms of dimensions this new model is is 36 millimetres longer than the outgoing model (at 4,935 millimetres), six millimetres wider (1,868 millimetres) and two millimetres taller (1,466 millimetres). Its wheelbase measures 2,975 millimetres (+7 millimetres).
Design wise the car is now sleeker and more sporty looking now with the standard LED headlamps being longer and connected to the grille. Inside too in the seventh gen, the interior is plusher and raides the bigger 7-series for the gadgets. There are all sorts of features like Gesture control, a massive 10.25-inch screen, Head-Up Display, two-zone climate control, Ambient lighting, Bowers & Wilkins audio system etc.
In terms of engines the new 5-Series will be available with 2.0 four-cylinder cylinder diesel (520d), 3.0 6 cylinder (530d), 2.0 four-cylinder petrol (530i). Expect prices to rise slightly but going by the looks and features, it will be worth it for sure!
