Tata Motors have officially spilled the beans regarding its engines for its Nexon compact SUV. To be launched soon, the Nexon will come with all new 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq family. The Revotron engine will be manufactured at the Sanand facility while the Revotorq engine will be produced at the Ranjangaon facility.
The petrol makes 108 bhp and 170Nm of torque while the diesel develops 108 bhp and 260Nm of torque. The release says only a 6-speed manual would be offered in both the cars though we also expect an AMT with the diesel. The Nexon was shown at the last Auto Expo and is touted as the game-changer for Tata Motors with a lot riding on this cars shoulders. The design is its clear USP and that will be a major pulling factor. We also expect generous equipment levels and aggressive pricing. We will be driving it within a few days.
