Within a few months time you would be able to buy two new compact SUVs and both of them will go against the Maruti Brezza which is the ruler of the compact SUV segment. First of which is the Tata Nexon which is coming next month end and Tata Motors have actually pushed the launch forward. Ford might also push the launch forward but September is what we expect- just after the Nexon. The Tata Nexon as you know is an all new product and it would be the first compact SUV from Tata. The eye-catching design is a clear highlight and the reason why the car has sparked off such a big interest in it.
The swoopy concept car like shape will draw buyers but there is plenty more in store with a set of powerful engines in form of all new 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq family. Both offer 108 bhp and will have a 6-speed manual. Expect best quality levels from Tata- having taking the learning from the Hexa. All in all this looks like a sure-shot winner. We will drive it in a few days.
However it is not the only one with Ford bringing its facelift EcoSport. Unlike the model sold elsewhere the much desired spare wheel at the back would be there. This is the first proper facelift to the car. The biggest styling changes are at the front with a new grille which is much bigger along with a new front bumper plus there are tweaked headlamps too. While the side view is the same there are new alloys and the rear tail-lamps would be new too. The biggest change is expected inside with a new touchscreen, more features, giving the interiors a much needed upgrade. Engine options stay the same as the changes are limited to exteriors and interiors. The new styling will give the EcoSport the armour to fight off its rivals
