Tata Motors is targeting aggressive pricing for the Nexon and its prime target is of course the Maruti Brezza. It plans to price it lower than the Brezza and grab a big chunk of market share. The Maruti Vitara Brezza starts at Rs 7.3 lakh and we expect Tata Motors to price it at Rs 6.5 lakh. The Tiago was launched at an aggressive price-tag, basically Tata Motors priced it a segment lower. With the Nexon we expect just that. As a product the Nexon has impressed us due to its superb styling, interiors and features along with its driving manners.
To recap the Nexon will come with an all new 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq family. It also has drive modes. The petrol makes 108 bhp and 170Nm of torque while the diesel develops 108 bhp and 260Nm of torque. Standard is a six-speed manual gearbox. As it stands the Nexon has a huge chance of being a game-changer for Tata Motors and also be its best seller. However as is with most things, it is the price that matters and Tata Motors will not disappoint here also.
