Two of the newest launches it seems have gone off to a great start. We are talking about the Jeep Compass and the new Hyundai Verna. Launched at the end of July, the Compass has notched up 10,000 bookings and FCA have ramped up production to meet demand. The diesel is getting more demand with the top-end trims being popular also. The Compass which was launched with a shocker of a price, understandably has caught the buyers fancy. Engines on offer are a 2.0 diesel and a 1.4 turbo petrol with the diesel having a 6-speed manual and the petrol having an option of a 7-speed dual clutch auto. The diesel has 4x4 while the automatic in the diesel will be coming early next year most probably.
Hyundai has also seen success with its latest sedan, the new Verna getting 7,000 bookings within 10 days of launch. the new Verna is seeing demand for its diesel version plus the automatic variant is also seeing healthy demand. Do remember Hyundai offers automatic with both the diesel and petrol. With aggressive pricing and with these introductory prices only till the first 20,000 orders, no wonder it has brought back some excitement in the sedan space. It is clear that manufacturers need new products constantly to drive sales in this competitive market.
