The Vitara Brezza was shown first at the 2016 Auto Expo and the whole public went mad so much so it was by far the star of the show. It was a super hit recipe in fact- a compact SUV wearing a Maruti badge however when Maruti launched it with its trademark below the competition pricing plus its contrast roof, personalisation and superb product positioning we expected it to sell but the huge success even caught Maruti by surprise. It is in the top 5 selling cars and has been a nightmare for its competition since day one.
Some numbers. After 16 months of launch, Maruti Suzuki Brezza has sold over 1.75 lakh units in just less than 18 months, averaging a monthly sale of over 9000 units. The insatiable appetite for this Maruti means it had booking at 25,871 units in August 2017. This is an increase of about 45% compared to August last year at 17,983 units. Company has also registered a growth of over 50% in sales with 70,000 units sold between March ——— August 2017 compared to 47,000 units sold in March———August 2016.
Currently it has a waiting list of 5 months with the top-end trim with the dual-tone roof being hugely popular. The massive success is simple as Maruti left no stone unturned with this as the Brezza remember has the trademark high efficiency, space and practicality but its also funky with its personalisation and a competent package that does everything well. With the new competition it would be interesting to see whether the Brezza maintains its momentum.
