There are reports going around that Maruti will be launching the Brezza with a petrol engine and a CVT but according to our sources this news is false as currently there are no plans for a Brezza petrol. Instead the car-maker might be launching soon an AMT variant of the Brezza diesel. The inclusion of the AMT variant would make the Brezza one of the most affordable automatic compact SUVs and also one of the most fuel efficient. Both of which are advantages associated with AMTs. The Dzire has an AMT with the same engine and also other products and the AMT in this car would make the Brezza even more popular. Just like the Dzire, the price gap between the AMT and manual would be less and pricing would be competitive to take on the likes of the newly launched Tata Nexon. Maruti will give the AMT option most probably in the ZDi PLus variant.
