It uses a high pressure direct injection pump that ensures injection of fuel directly into the combustion chamber through electronically controlled injection valves. This innovation in engine technology is aimed at allowing higher compression ratios and more efficient fuel intake. This in turn helps deliver high performance and low fuel consumption.

The Audi A6 is comes with two types of transmission system. The multitronic and the 7-speed S tronic transmission are the systems used in Audi A6. It also comprises the quattro four-wheel-drive that ensures improved traction and dynamic driving style by variably distributing the drive forces to both front and rear wheels through mechanical center differential.

The electronically adapted air suspension with adjustable damping automatically adapts the suspension according to driving situation. Depending on the driving situation the suspension automatically switches over to any of the four basic setting comprising lift, comfort, automatic, and dynamic.
