Overview

Audi has been pretty much active in bringing out upgraded models in the year 2013 and the launch of face-lift model of its powerful sports car just adds more flavour to its Indian portfolio. Audi RS 5, which looks red hot in design and dynamics, carries the same mighty V8 engine as its previous version. The marque has beautified the front of the coupe to remarkable extent and has priced it higher to beat the economic downturn in the country. Armed with dual-clutch transmission system, high-performance brakes and the trademark quattro, the automobile simply defies the laws of physics and makes its own rules when it comes to speed and driving nature.

Audi RS 5 Coupe is available as a single variant with one powerful petrol engine. However, the German car maker has given options when it comes to choice of upholstery and interior inlays and alloy wheels as well. The car also has eight attractive colours in its options list to uphold its commanding stance through outstanding appeal.

Powertrain & Performance

Audi has loaded the V8 petrol engine which is designed for superior power at higher rpm scales. This motor adopts an FSI to bring fuel into cylinder. Through this means, the charge in cylinder will have perfect composition of air and fuel, which results in effective combustion and hence better output. High-Rev Concept is another technique used in the 4163 cc engine of the German marque, through which the unit can rev up to speeds of 8500 rpm. The maximum power thrown out from this engine is 443.8 bhp @ 8250 rpm. A hefty torque of 430 Nm is available @ 4000-6000 rpm. The maximum rated speed for the sports coupe is 250 km/h while it is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h from 0 in about 4.5 seconds.

To deliver this kind of performance, a 7-speed S tronic transmission system with dual-clutch type assembly works in the powertrain. This system enables gear change to take place swiftly, resulting in less energy loss between shifts and greater performance.

Build & Styling

Audi RS 5 Coupe stands as a stunning automobile essentially because of the new upgrades for the front. The coupe gets a newly designed front bumper with alloy coloured tips. The front grille looks more imposing and aggressive now and carries the same chrome outline. LEDs are arranged in style in the headlamp to give that dynamic appeal along with a bonnet which bulges out to look mightier. The matt aluminium finished ORVM, chrome tipped exhaust pipes on either ends and LED tail lamps give an unmistakable personality to the vehicle. Large alloy wheels are designed to match the overall character of the car. An electrically operated panoramic sunroof brings in more light, air to make the drive joyful.

The interior of this vehicle focuses more on comfort through well shaped seats which have electric adjustment function. Driving position induces higher enthusiasm for the customer by having a sporty posture through three-spoke steering and positioning of other controls. Nappa leather upholstery in different colours and inlays made of brushed aluminium are excellently finished to give that elite class feel. Three-zone automatic air conditioner and audio system with Bluetooth connectivity make the experience even more cheerful. Cruise control option and Audi parking system plus are fit in the car to heighten the ease of driving.

Audi RS 5 Coupe houses variety of equipment to protect itself from dangers and during accidents. Front airbags and side airbags can deploy during a crash and safe guard passengers from injuries. The powertrain is monitored and regulated by Electronic Stabilisation Programme which combines Electronic Differential Lock, Anti-lock Braking System and Anti-slip Regulation to keep the vehicle in good stability at all speeds. Anti-theft wheel bolts and Anti-theft alarm are housed on board to increase the security of the automobile.
