After creating history with big trucks, big family sedans and big V8 muscle cars, General Motors is out to make it big again with its premium mid size sedan – the Chevrolet Cruze. A far cry from the company’s lamentable hand-outs like the Cavalier and the Cobalt, General Motors’ impressive new car truly bowls you over with its well-rounded, world-class sophistication. The Chevrolet Cruze is everything you would want your compact car to be. From efficiency to styling and from safety features to pricing, the Cruze gives you everything and more. Engineered, designed and manufactured to fit seamlessly into your ever-evolving life, Chevrolet Cruze offers more cargo space, more safety features, and more kilometres per litre. Equipped with a 2.0 litre VCDi diesel engine that is apparently the most powerful in its segment, a new manual transmission, coupe-like design proportions, elegant interiors, impressive comfort and features, safety mechanisms and class leading amenities, this is one car that truly wows the customer. The Chevrolet Cruze is available in three diesel variants – a 2.0 LT with a manual gearbox, a 2.0 LTZ also with a manual gearbox and a 2.0 LTZ with an automatic gearbox. The Cruze comes in six attention grabbing palettes – Velvet Red, Caviar Black, White Diamond (costs extra), Sandrift Grey, Switchblade Silver and Summit White.

Powertrain & Performance

If you are looking for a car that makes most of your every penny, is high on performance, ride and handling and comes packed with a punchy engine, the Chevrolet Cruze is a good bet. Powered by a capable diesel engine, all the variants of this Chevy come armed with the same powerful 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder, Advanced VCDi (Variable Geometry Turbo Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine that delivers 164 bhp and a thumping torque of 380 Nm @ 2000 rpm. While Chevrolet Cruze LT and LTZ are geared up with a 6 speed manual transmission, the LTZ AT variant features a 6 speed automatic transmission that delivers a smooth driving experience. With excellent throttle response and impressive torque, the fuel economy focussed manual transmission Cruze returns 17.3 kpl and the automatic variant returns a laudable 14.81 kpl. Supported by a high strength body frame and advanced suspension, the Chevy Cruze prides itself on its excellent handling characteristics, sturdiness, and agile, responsive driving dynamics. The front McPherson Strut type suspension comes with side-load compensated front strut modules with specially shaped springs. The hydraulic ride bushings competently suck up road input loads and offer a higher level of ride isolation, optimise comfort and handling agility, resulting in a better and quieter performance. The U-shaped Compound Crank Type rear suspension with torsion beam and gas-charged shock absorbers ensure a smooth and comfortable ride, adds to a lower centre of gravity and also enables weight savings and consistent wheel-camber control.

Build & Styling

Bold, stylish and aggressive, the Chevrolet Cruze appeals to people who want to make a sporty statement. The exterior of Cruze exudes sophistication and refined appeal. A chiselled frame, burly shoulders, bevelled bonnet, sharp angles and taut styling, Chevrolet's sedan truly mesmerises. The car also gets features like an electric sunroof with a pinch guard and wind deflector function, 16 inch alloy wheels, and twin-pod jewel effect tail lights. The interiors of the Chevrolet Cruze are stylish and futuristic. The car———s cavernous interior not only has more passenger room, but also more cargo space as well. It smartly uses its space with 60:40 folding rear seats to make accessing the boot space from the passenger cabin easy. With rich colours, classy black leather interiors, stylish three-gauge instrument cluster, advanced integrated centre panel with graphic infotainment display, radio and HVAC controls, USB port, Bluetooth music streaming and automatic inside rear-view mirror, the Chevrolet Cruze not only looks and feels premium, but is also high on convenience.
