The Fiat Linea made its global debut in March 26, 2007 as a world car for developing countries. The Fiat Linea is based on the current Fiat Grande Punto platform, and was designed by Fiat Style Centre and co-developed by Fiat do Brasil and Tofas from Turkey. After the huge success of the 1.4L "FIRE" Petrol Engine and 1.3L Multijet Diesel Engine Linea in the Indian market, Fiat has now launched the 1.4  litre T-Jet Linea in two variants: Fiat Linea 1.4  liter T-Jet and Fiat Linea 1.4  litre T-Jet Plus. The new Linea T-Jet will compete with mid-sized sedans like the Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Maruti Suzuki SX4, and Hyundai Verna. The new Linea T-Jet is available in a range of new colours including Sunbeam Beige, Tuscan Wine, Fox Trot Azure, Bossa Nova White and Hip Hop Black.

Powertrain & Performance

Leading the way when it comes to automotive technology isn't something new for Fiat, and the car maker has done it once again with the introduction of the Linea T-Jet. The new car comes powered with a perfectly tuned, adrenaline inducing Euro V 1.4- litre 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC turbocharged petrol engine which is apparently the first ever turbo engine in its segment in India. The monstrous T-Jet mated with a super-smooth slush box delivers exceptional performance that would make shy all others in the segment. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual, fully synchronised gear box with over drive on 4th and 5th. To add to the Linea's style statement comes the Linea T-Jet which makes an incredible power statement too. The petrol engine pumps out a heart pounding 112 bhp @ 5000 rpm and peak torque of 207 Nm @ 2200 rpm. Fiat says the Linea T-Jet is highly responsive and driving in the city is going to be a breeze. The best in class power and torque of the Linea T-Jet get highlighted further with the outstanding acceleration figures. The new car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 11.14 seconds and the claimed top speed is an impressive 200 km/h. The claimed mileage happens to be a remarkable 14.6 kmpl.

Build & Styling

The Italian design accents are manifested in the elegant, distinctive, and uncluttered styling of the new Fiat Linea T-Jet. The forward sloping windscreen, the drop-shaped headlights and the large front end sporting the new Fiat logo enhance the appeal of the car. The grille of the Linea T-Jet features a dividing line between the bonnet and the front bumpers, and the latter taper off gradually until they meet the wheel arches. The dual parabola headlamps and the fog lamps compliment the look of the car just perfect. The Fiat Linea T-Jet, proposed with a single body type, gives an impression of solidity, robustness and roominess. The interior styling of the Linea T-Jet would remind you of the top of the line Emotion Pack variant of Linea. Its dual-tone interiors are available in irresistible leather. An ergonomically and aesthetically designed interior is complemented with dual-tone interiors, leather finished steering wheel. Powered mirrors just add to the car's suave demeanor. An additional tray and cup holder on the rear armrest make it so much more convenient. Moreover, classy interiors, AC fascia, audio control at the rear and instrument panel add to the charm of the car. A step into the car interior will offer an inspiring melange that displays elegance, style, versatility, and luxury. The Linea T-Jet comes equipped with a number of comfort features such as Tilt Steering, Power Windows with Auto Down Function, Electric Remote tailgate open, Electrically Adjustable Outside Rear View Mirrors, Automatic Climate Control and Integrated CD / MP3 & FM Player. The Linea T-Jet is also equipped with the innovative 'Blue&Me' system, based on the Windows Mobile technology, developed by Fiat Group Automobiles and Microsoft. This technology changes the communication, information and entertainment standards in the car, improving comfort and the quality of your driving experience. The device is very easy to use and the Bluetooth technology allows you to make and receive telephone calls without taking your hands off the steering. You can also listen to music simply and safely as you drive, communicating with the outside world from the car via your personal devices such as cell phones and PDAs. The Fiat Linea T-Jet is amazingly beautiful and handsomely powerful, and the safety features of the car add so much more essence to it. Along with the all wheel disc brakes, which come as standard with the Linea T-Jet, it is also equipped with one of the most advanced ABS anti-lock braking systems on the market, complete with EBD electronic brake force distribution. The EBD distributes the braking force over the four wheels to prevent them from locking, guaranteeing complete control of the car in all conditions. Other safety features of the car include Fire Prevention System (FPS), Double Crank Protection System, Driver Seat Belt Warning, Immobiliser With Rolling code (FCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD, 3-Point ELR Seatbelts with Pre-tensioners & Load Limiter and Dual Stage Front Driver & Passenger Airbags.
