The Sonata is the epitome of luxury and technology. It is a masterpiece designed with the elegant and refined beauty of the orchid flower in mind. Powertrain & Performance

The Sonata is equipped with a splendid 2.4 litre GDi engine that churns out 198 bhp @ 6300 rpm. This is the best for any in line engine in the segment. Highly pressurised fuel is directly being injected into the combustion chamber while harnessing the benefits of the Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-VTVT) which aids in attaining optimum performance in fuel efficiency and low exhaust emissions. It is available with the option of 6-speed manual as well as 6-speed automatic transmission that offers class-leading shifting capability that promotes dynamic driving and minimal shifting errors. The suspension system comprises of McPherson Strut Type in the front and Multi Link Type at the rear which offers a stable and highly comfortable ride.

Build & Styling

The Sonata is well ahead of its predecessors in terms of exterior styling, interior comfort, convenience, and performance. The front grille takes its design cues from the harmony of flowing water in nature. The cat-eye shaped HID lamps provide high visibility in the darkest of nights, projecting light farther down the road for improving driving safety. The multi reflector clear glass bezel less type fog lamps ensure maximum visibility in adverse driving condition as well as impart elegance to front look. The 10-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels enhances the premiumness of the car. The rear comprises of chrome tipped dual exhaust that lends a sporty touch and the wraparound LED based luminous source with the stylish character line, projects elegance and enhances visibility for a safer drive. The Sonata has luxurious interiors. White lighting is used for the main instrument cluster while the secondary controls and accessories are illuminated at night by Hyundai's characteristic blue lighting. With the integrated driver information system, the supervision cluster gives all the information needed at a glance in an eye-pleasing vacuum fluorescent display. The paddle-shifters located behind the steering wheel offer lightening fast gear shifts. The Sonata is loaded with many safety features that includes dual front airbags with passenger detection system, side and curtain airbags, active headrest, electronic stability program, ABS, EBD, TCS, brake assist, rear parking assist system, impact sensing door unlock, height adjustable front seat belts, engine immobiliser, keyless entry with security alarm, central door locking, door courtesy lamp, rear defogger with timer, electro chromic mirror, rear parking camera with display on ECM, auto headlight control and foot type parking brake.
