The Land Rover Freelander 2 has followed the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the Discovery into the Indian car market. This premium SUV has all the typical features of a Land Rover and is available in three trims namely S, SE, and HSE. It is powered by a 2.2L in-line 4 Turbo-Diesel engine and has a Command Shift 6-speed automatic transmission.

Land Rover Freelander 2 has been successful in maintaining the highlights of the model and has added extra features that will improve the attitude of the SUV. The truly contemporary design of the SUV will make it a much accepted model of the season.

The transversely mounted engine of the Freelander 2 has many merits including flexibility in front-end styling and excellent crash protection. It is also equipped with the unique Terrain Response system, which helps in maximising wheel traction with electronic management systems. Powertrain & Performance

Freelander 2 has two different types of diesel engines for SE and HSE variants. The SE model of the SUV is powered by a 2.2L Turbo-Diesel engine which produces a power of 149 bhp and renders 420 Nm worth of torque. The HSE version of the SUV has a 2.2L Turbo-Diesel engine which is tuned to produce 188 bhp of power and 420 Nm of torque. The Land Rover Freelander 2 has a Command Shift 6-speed automatic transmission.

The drive quality of Land Rover Freelander 2 is smooth and perfect and delivers satisfactory acceleration. The suspension system is equipped with technicalities like Roll Stability Control and Cornering Brake Control which make each drive a confident one.

Build & Styling

The Land Rover Freelander 2 is built to capture the imagination of the viewers. All the traits of a Land Rover are fused in to the Freelander 2. The interiors of the Land Rover Freelander 2 have enough of space for five adults to sit back and relax. Everyone can enjoy the view, with stadium seating putting the rear passengers 50 mm higher than those in front. The steering wheel has multi-functional switches that make the SUV easy to maneuver. The climate control helps to set the desired temperature to make the cabin more comfortable. Leather seats increase the pleasure of travelling in this SUV.

The compact premium SUV has features like Roll Stability Control (RSC), airbags for the driver and front passenger, airbags at the side and head for optimal safety as well as an airbag for the driver's knee, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and the unique Hill Descent Control (HDC).
