Mercedes-Benz has always been the heart throb of people around the globe owing to its beautiful, amazingly built product. The SLS AMG Roadster is the most exhilarating sports car with an exceptional agility and extraordinary performance. It has the potential for even greater thrills.

The roadster version of SLS AMG is an open top convertible version which has the top built out of three layers of materials. The car is constructed with some safety equipment which guard the car when a roll-over takes place. The roof takes about 11 seconds to come into position and a driver can activate this even at speeds of 50 km/h. The car houses a large 6.3L engine which is available in the coupe version of SLS AMG. The cabin of the majestic two-seater automobile is furnished with some top-class equipment which composes a luxurious drive.

Powertrain & Performance

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is equipped with a powerful 6.3L V8 engine that churns out 563.2 bhp @ 6800 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm @ 4750 rpm. This powerful engine uses an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. This transmission system is built in house at AMG. It has four transmission modes, integrated rear-axle locking differential and Race Start functions.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is true performer on road and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a matter of just 3.8 seconds. The top-speed of this super-luxury roadster is 317 km/h. The wide gear ratios enable the SLS AMG to offer phenomenal fuel efficiency. The AMG sports suspension has the double wishbone mechanism both at front and rear axles. These units swallow vibrations to provide extremely smooth and pleasant ride. The ultra-rigid aluminium space frame of the SLS gives it outstanding strength.

Build & Styling

The notable aspect of SLS AMG Roadster is its long nose which is stylishly sculpted, giving priority to aerodynamic aspects as well. Unlike in the coupe version of SLS AMG which has gull-wing doors, this model gets normal doors. The car shows off its power through its bold shoulders and large 19-inch and 20-inch wheels at front and rear respectively. The bi-xenon headlamps with integral LED lights are additions to aesthetics. The other features present are a solid metal screw-type fuel filler cap, reversing camera and an AMG sports exhaust system with integral tailpipes.

The interiors of SLS AMG includes a range of luxurious upholstery options, a solid metal centre console with AMG Drive Unit, E-Select shift lever and keyless-Go start button, luxury automatic climate control, COMMAND multimedia system with Linguatronic voice control, 7-inch TFT color screen and an instrument panel with white backlit dials. There are about 11 colour combinations for leather upholstery.

The other features include AMG Ride control sports suspension with three-stage adaptive damping, high performance ceramic composite braking system, carbon-fibre engine compartment cover and Blind Spot Assist.

The safety features include ASR, ESP, ABS and BAS dynamic control system, the adaptive brake system which helps the AMG SLS to perform critical manoeuvres easily.
