The Stuttgart based automobile manufacturer, Porsche, a name that is known for its mind-blowing sports cars and their breathtaking drives has brought out the Cayman S on Indian roads to thrill customers. Using all possible design ideas to strengthen its dynamics and efficiency, the car comes out with more power, lightness, stability and fuel economy when compared to its previous versions. The auto marque has incorporated sophisticated technological equipment into the car to keep the emissions as well as fuel consumption low. The lightweight body is made out of material which can be recycled which makes the super fast sports car friendlier to environment.

Porsche Cayman S is available with manual and PDK automatic transmission systems. There are some bright and lively colour shades like Racing Yellow, Guards Red, Aqua Blue Metallic and White. Apart from these there are 11 more colour options for the automobile.

Powertrain & Performance

The elegant sports coupe is loaded with a fully equipped powertrain which works on fuel efficiency, power, driving smoothness and low emissions simultaneously. VarioCam Plus for optimised fuel consumption and more power whenever desired, Thermal Management System for better performance and mileage, Direct Fuel Injection and coasting for better performance and Stereo Lambda sensors for lower emissions, combine to form an unbeatable powertrain which takes the coupe to its extremes. The 3463 cc, 6-cylinder, in-line petrol engine of the Porsche Cayman S generates 325 bhp @ 7400 rpm. The maximum torque given out from this bulky unit is 370 Nm @ 4500 to 5800 rpm.

The powerhouse comes coupled to either 6-speed manual transmission or the acclaimed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) which is a 7-speed automatic transmission system. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in about 5 seconds and the top-speed comes up to 281 km/h to 283 km/h. The coasting function cuts off the influence of automatic gearbox on the engine when the car is decelerating. This increases fuel economy and reduces loss of power.

Build & Styling

Porsche cars have always stood apart for their unique design which elevates the beauty of the aerodynamic sculpture. The Cayman S too incorporates many of these design aspects which gives it a separate position in Indian market. The design of headlamps and front wings, the classy front bumpers with bold edges, black air vents and spoilers give a stunning introduction to the automobile. There are more protrusions and cuts and curves to define the personality of this sports coupe which creates its first impression through its silhouette. The rear of the Cayman S is finished in style with haunches and twin exhaust pipes to indicate its massive power and striking tail lamps sign off in grandness.

The interior of the Porsche Cayman S is composed in a manner to make it easier to the driver to see the driving extremes. The seats and controls are designed to make the cabin more comfortable. The gear lever is positioned pretty close to the steering wheel to make the drive sportier while the equipment and control buttons on the ascending centre console are very well within the reach of driver. Leather fabricated over seats, steering wheel, gear knob and other parts enrich the interior along with silver accents. CDR audio system with touch screen display and air conditioner with automatic climate control feature enhance the pleasure of travelling in this automobile.

Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED and LED tail lights not only look beautiful on the sports car but also provide a confident driving experience. The disc brakes are light and the four piston calipers are designed for quick and effective braking under all conditions. Porsche Stability Management takes safety to the next level by combining sensors and mechanical parts which include ABS, ASR and EDC. The system heightens the safety of the drive by controlling the equipment.
